IVE’s first-week album sales surpassed 150,000 copies, establishing a new record for girl group debut albums
The 6-member rookie girl group IVE has established themselves as a wannabe icon to represent the 4th generation.
According to Hanteo Chart, the largest album record counting site in Korea, IVE (Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, and Lee Seo) recorded 152.229 copies for their first debut single album “Eleven”, which was released on December 1st. IVE’s album “Eleven” made the first impressive performance, ranking No.1 among all girl groups’ debut albums. Moreover, IVE also recorded the highest first-week sales among rookie groups that debuted in 2021. With this album, IVE entered the top 3 music charts in the first week of December, proving their extraordinary presence.
Currently, IVE is drawing keen attention in the KPOP community not only in Korea but also in foreign countries for their outstanding achievements. Not only charting high in the Top 10 on various Korea’s major music sites, such as Melon, Genie Music, and Bugs, IVE’s “Eleven” also entered the ‘Global Top 200’ chart of Spotify – the world’s largest music streaming site. In addition, this song also ranked 7th on the New Song Chart and No.5 on the Daily Chart of China’s largest music platform – QQ Music, signaling the start of IVE’s debut on global charts.
IVE is also doing well on the chart of Billboard, the U.S music media outlet, and Line Music, a Japanese music site. In particular, apart from ranking No.12 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart, IVE also dominated 1st place on the Billboard Hot Trending Songs Chart. Continuing their marching of new records, the girl group currently ranks No.7 in the Daily Chart and No.3 in the KPOP Daily Rankings on Line Music.
On December 8th, IVE performed their debut stage with “Eleven” on MBC Every1’s “Show! Champion” and even won the 1st place trophy. As a result, the girl group earned the title of “Super Fast No.1 Singer” by winning the music show trophy in only 7 days after their debut. Leading the global charts and gaining achievements that are considered outstanding for a rookie, IVE is expected to go forward on a flower path with their potential as a “completed group”.
On their way to becoming a representative of KPOP from their first start as a rising star, IVE plans to continue with more promotion activities for “Eleven”.
