IU Changes Title Of New Song After Facing Criticism From LGBT People

On January 19th, EDAM Entertainment released an official notice, saying “The title of IU’s pre-release song ‘Love Wins’ will be changed to ‘Love Wins All’.”

After IU announced the title “Love Wins” of her new song earlier, some people raised concerns that “Love Wins” is the slogan of the LGBT Community and using it as the title for a song may cause the meaning of the slogan to fade.

In response, IU’s agency explained, “We acknowledge the concern that the title of the song may blur the important message of the slogan. We respect and support everyone who lives and loves in various ways”.

Moreover, they said, “If there’s any word in the song soon to be released that contradicts the message, the song would be hated”, adding “This was mentioned in detail in the introduction of the intro track on the 18th. We sincerely hope that all love will win in a world without hatred, and the message of the song will be conveyed without hurting anyone”.

EDAM will continue to release content and teaser to promote IU’s comeback song with the title “Love Wins All” from now on.

Meanwhile, IU’s new song is highly anticipated as this is her comeback after two years and one month since “Pieces”, which was released on December 29th, 2021. “Love Wins All” will be available for streaming on all online music sites at 6 p.m. on January 24th.
