“I’m sorry, I couldn’t hear it. One more time…” Moments that make netizens suspect Yoo Ah In of suffering drug side effects

After Yoo Ah In was found to have administered 4 kinds of drugs (propofol, marijuana, cocaine, ketamine), netizens dug up his past actions, claiming them as drug side effects.

The most suspicious scene was when Yoo Ah In appeared on MBC’s “I Live Alone” in June 2020. At that time, the actor was seen breathing heavily after climbing only a few steps of the stairs in his house. He also showed strange behaviors, such as suddenly going blank and stuttering.

In response to the scene, netizens commented, “I have realized that he was not normal since that time”, “Isn’t that the side effect of drugs?”, “The way he breathed looked weird”, “He stuttered a lot”, etc.

That’s not the only evidence. A similar scene was found during the interview at the 41st Blue Dragon Film Awards Handprinting Event in November 2021. At that time, Yoo Ah In was not very busy with filming schedules, but he still had unusual behaviors, such as frowning, tilting his head all the time, and stuttering.

When asked about the kind of acting he wanted to show in “Hellbound”, Yoo Ah In said, “I’m sorry. I couldn’t hear it well. One… one more time, please?”, asking the MC to repeat the question. Before giving his answer, the actor sighed slightly and smiled forcibly. He said, “First of all, I haven’t prepared myself yet. Uh… The first challenge… I wanted to try… the work itself is a little…”, then tilted his head again.

He continued, “Looks dangerous? It was a challenging job. Also, because the role I play is important.. Hmm.. Maybe it’s the dialogue acting that I haven’t shown much lately. I didn’t say a word in the movie ‘Voice of Silence’.”

In an interview with YTN News on March 2nd, Seung Jae Hyun, a senior researcher at the Korea Institute for Criminal Justice Policy, commented on Yoo Ah In’s behavior, “I think repeated gestures (of Yoo Ah In) are an addiction situation,” he said.

He added, “In fact, the most important thing is that people who take drugs should be severely punished, but they should also receive rehabilitation treatment so that they do not really touch drugs again. Both severe punishment and recurrence prevention are necessary in Korea.”
