The 2023 Ice Bucket Challenge, which started with Sean, is gradually spreading throughout the entertainment industry.
On July 10th, Sean posted his 2023 Ice Bucket Challenge video through SNS and said, “Please join us to support the construction of Korea’s first Lou Gehrig’s disease healthcare hospital.”
The Ice Bucket Challenge is a campaign to attract public interest in Lou Gehrig’s disease patients and raise donations for the construction of Lou Gehrig’s disease healthcare hospital. This challenge started in the US in 2014 and spread around the world via SNS.
Sean pointed out Park Bo Gum, IU and Cho Won Hee as the next challengers. Park Bo Gum pointed out Kwak Dong Yeon, Oh My Girl Mimi and The Boyz Q. IU pointed out Heo Joon Seok, Lee Joo Young and Lee Do Hyun, while Cho Won Hee pointed out Im Si Wan, Lee Young Pyo and Lee Jung Hoo.
Mimi pointed out Ali, Winner Jinu and Lee Young Ji. The Boyz Q pointed out WEi Kang Seok Hwa, Back Kooyoung and The Boyz Sunwoo. Heo Joon Seok pointed out Ryu Kyung Soo, Bae Yoo Ram and Lee Hyun Woo, while Lee Joo Young pointed out Hyun Bong Sik, Lee Dong Hwi and Kwon Na Ra. Kwon Na Ra then pointed out Kim Myung Soo, Lee Yi Kyung and Ryu Kyung Soo.
Im Si Wan, who was invited by Cho Won Hee, pointed out Lee Si Young, Choi Si Won and Choo Sung Hoon. Lee Si Young then chose Yoon Se Ah and Kim Kang Min. Yoon Se Ah announced that she donated 100,000 won to the Seungil Hope Foundation, saying, “The situation isn’t favorable, so I’ll donate first and earn another day by self-pointing.” Besides, Ali pointed out Kwon Ji An, Kim Hieora and Hwang Woo Lim, while Jinu pointed out Jang Su Won, DinDin, and Lee Jae Yul. The challenge is currently ongoing.
During the 2014 Ice Bucket Challenge, many Korean stars participated, including Sung Yu Ri, Jun Hyo Seong and Jung Eun Ji. In 2018, Sunye, Baek Ji Young and others delivered their donations.
