“Hopeless” Kim Hyung-seo “I Was Well-fed On Set Thanks To Song Joong-ki”

Actress Kim Hyung-seo expressed her gratitude for senior actor Song Joong-ki, saying she was well-fed on set thanks to him

At 2PM on Oct 7th, an open talk about the movie “Hopeless” (directed by Kim Chang-hoon) took place at the outdoor stage of the Busan Cinema Center. Director Kim Chang-hoon, Hong Xa-bin, Song Joong-ki and Kim Hyung-seo were present.

Kim Hyung-seo, who plays Ha-yan in “Hopeless”, said, “It took me a long time to understand Ha-yan. I acted while thinking about my high school days. I gained a lot from portraying this character.”

Kim Hyung-seo attracted attention as she revealed, “Some people thought I looked relaxed, but I was very nervous. However, the atmosphere on set was really good, and senior Song Joong-ki bought me a lot of delicious food, so I was able to film comfortably.”

Song Joong-ki recalled Kim Hyung-seo’s first shoot and emphasized, “I remember watching Hyung-seo act through the monitor. Everyone was amazed, saying, ‘She’s incredible.’

“Hopeless” is a neo-noir thriller film about a boy named Yeon-gyu (Hong Xa-bin), who wants to escape from the hellish reality, meeting an organization’s middle boss Chi-geon (Song Joong-ki) and experiencing the dangerous world together. The film received critical acclaim and an official invitation to the 76th Cannes Film Festival.

This year’s Busan International Film Festival features a total of 269 films, including 209 officially invited films from 69 countries and 60 community beef screenings. The opening film is “Because I Hate Korea” (directed by Jang Kun-jae) starring Go Ah-sung, Kim Woo-gyeom and Joo Jong-hyuk, and the closing film is “The Movie Emperor” (directed by Ning Hao) starring Andy Lau.
