Girls’ Generation Taeyeon Takes Top Spot in February Girl Group Individual Brand Reputation

Girls' Generation's Taeyeon ranked first, followed by BLACKPINK's Jennie in second place, and TWICE's Jihyo in third place

According to the big data analysis of individual brand reputations of girl group members in February 2024, Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation ranked first, followed by Jennie from BLACKPINK in second place, and Jihyo from TWICE in third place.

The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute conducted a big data analysis of individual brand reputations of girl group members from February 18th of last month to the 18th of this month. A total of 65,500 members’ brand big data consisting of 81,148,331 pieces were extracted to analyze consumer behavior towards individual girl group member brands, using participation index, media index, communication index, and community index to calculate the brand reputation index. Compared to the previous month’s 86,587,833 pieces of big data on individual brand reputations of girl group members, there was a decrease of 6.28%.

Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation, who ranked first in individual brand reputation, had a brand reputation index of 2,471,734 with participation index of 623,996, media index of 578,780, communication index of 713,733, and community index of 555,224. Compared to January, the brand reputation index decreased by 21.16%.

Jennie from BLACKPINK, who ranked second, had a brand reputation index of 2,374,322 with participation index of 155,883, media index of 595,803, communication index of 789,787, and community index of 832,849. Compared to January, the brand reputation index decreased by 30.00%.

Jihyo from TWICE, who ranked third, had a brand reputation index of 1,741,680 with participation index of 226,609, media index of 255,502, communication index of 424,660, and community index of 834,909. Compared to January, the brand reputation index increased by 50.20%.

Hanni from NewJeans, who ranked fourth, had a brand reputation index of 1,738,209 with participation index of 444,669, media index of 413,004, communication index of 477,484, and community index of 403,052. Compared to January, the brand reputation index decreased by 31.55%.

Jisoo from BLACKPINK, who ranked fifth, had a brand reputation index of 1,728,040 with participation index of 161,812, media index of 185,908, communication index of 597,204, and community index of 783,116. Compared to January, the brand reputation index decreased by 28.90%.

Chang-hwan Koo, director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, stated, “In the big data analysis results of individual brand reputations of girl group members in February 2024, Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation ranked first. When analyzing the individual brand category of girl group members, there was a decrease of 6.28% compared to the previous month’s big data of 86,587,833 pieces. Detailed analysis shows a 10.93% decrease in brand consumption, a 4.21% decrease in brand issues, a 4.71% decrease in brand communication, and a 6.90% decrease in brand diffusion.”

He continued, “Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation, who ranked first in individual brand reputation in February 2024, had high rankings in link analysis for ‘longevity, loveliness, and support,’ and in keyword analysis for ‘2X, dream, and music queen.’ The sentiment analysis showed a positive ratio of 92.49%. Detailed analysis showed a 2.31% increase in brand consumption, a 13.20% decrease in brand issues, a 34.25% decrease in brand communication, and a 28.16% decrease in brand diffusion.”
