(G)I-DLE Miyeon expressed how she felt about being called “Mi Ha.”
In her words, Miyeon said, “I thought I seemed like a genius but whenever Neverland calls me Mi Ha, I think that Neverland does not know me well. Next time, I will show it more to you guys (my genius side). Just assume this time that you all don’t know me well. It’s fine as long as Neverland is happy. Actually, I’m a genius. How do you not know this?”
The nickname “Mi Ha” came from a (G)I-DLE show where Shuhua played a teacher and used “Mi Ha” as a way to call Miyeon “dumb”, or not smart enough. Afterward, both fans and haters have been using it to either tease or indirectly attack Miyeon.
While Miyeon and fans have a close relationship, a majority of the fandom believe calling her by this name is hurting the idol; when the singer actively voice her opinion against such name-calling, it showed how the joke has crossed the line.
