Experts, including former director of the National Forensic Service and current chair-professor at Sungkyunkwan University Jung Hee-sun, stated that body washing does not completely eliminate drug residues.
Professor Jung explained that if drugs are not detected in hair, they could still be detected in nails, toenails or other parts of the body. She emphasized that it is difficult to completely eliminate drug residues through body washing and that the possibility remains due to the continuous movement of drugs within the body.
Regarding the “leg hair test”, Professor Jung mentioned that hair growth is relatively constant, making it possible to trace the history of drug use. However, for body hair like leg hair, there is no standard for the growth period, making it challenging to determine drug history.
Some netizens raised suspicions about G-Dragon’s excessive gestures as evidence of drug use. Professor Jung emphasized that drug use confirmation is not based on such behaviors but on scientific results.
Kim Hee-joon, a lawyer known as the “grim reaper of drug offenders” during his time as a prosecutor, also stated that judging drug use based solely on behaviors or gestures is difficult. He explained that unique behaviors or gestures could be individual traits and that drug offenders do not necessarily exhibit unusual movements.
Lawyer Kim also mentioned that different types of drugs can have different effects on individuals, and behaviors associated with drug use may not be universally applicable.
Actor Lee Sun-kyun admitted to drug use during his second police investigation on Nov 4th, claiming that he was deceived by the adult entertainment establishment head and did not intentionally use drugs. Legal experts predict that if there is no evidence of intentional drug use by Lee Sun-kyun, it may be difficult to punish him.
