On April 28th, IST Entertainment released an official statement concerning the contract status of the members, “After careful discussions with the members for a long time, Park Cho Rong, Yoon Bo Mi, Kim Nam Joo, and Oh Ha Young wrapped up their beautiful 12-year-long trip with the company in late April for new growth before Apink’s exclusive contract expires.”
In addition, the company also announced, “We recently signed a new contract with Jung Eun Ji, and will continue our relationship”.
Nonetheless, it is reported that Apink’s group activities will continue. IST Entertainment said, “Regardless of the contract, Apink promised to maintain team activities without disbanding as all members have a firm will and affection for group activities. We plan to discuss Apink’s future activities, cooperation, and work together so that they can protect the team.”
The official announcement concluded, “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all Apink members who have been working together for 12 long years to establish themselves as K-pop’s representative girl group. We ask for your unchanging warm support and love for Apink members, who are embarking on a new journey”.
Since APINK debuted in 2011, “Mr. Chu” and “NoNoNo”, along with others, have been greatly loved by the general public as well as K-pop fans. On April 5th, they released their 10th mini-album “SELF” and the title song “D N D” with the full group after about a year and two months. They are actively communicating with fans while continuing active group activities.
