Former T-ARA Ahreum Snips at Her Ex-husband, “If You Commit a Crime, You Must be Punished”

Lee Ahreum, a former member of girl group T-ARA, recently published a cryptic message, seemingly targeting her ex-husband.

On March 20, former T-ARA member Ahreum published the message, “Anyone who commits a crime must be punished in some way.”

Along with this, she shared Nietzsche’s famous quote, “What doesn’t kill me, makes me stronger”, revealing her mindset towards the current situation.

It is known that Ahreum is currently in the process of divorcing her husband. She married a businessman two years her senior in 2019 and has two sons. However, in December last year, she suddenly announced her divorce and revealed a new boyfriend. She explained that she plans to start anew with her boyfriend once the divorce proceedings are finalized.

Especially, Ahreum claimed that her children were being abused during the divorce proceedings. In particular, she stated to OSEN that her ex-husband sprayed urine on the children’s faces, adding that it was unbearable to keep asking the children about the abuse, but she had to keep asking because she had no choice.

“The more I listened to them (the children), my heart was torn apart, as what he did to them were not simple disciplinary actions”, Ahreum also said.

Ahreum also clarified misconceptions that hinted at her giving up parental rights. She explained, “For me, getting a quick divorce was the priority. After that, there were things I could do to bring the children with me. I said I would give temporary custody because of the quick divorce, but people twisted my words, turning the situation from me giving up temporary custody into me giving up full parental rights. Right now, I am protecting my children and trying to take legal action.”

However, as this is the unilateral claim of a party involved in the divorce proceedings, excessive speculation and criticism should be avoided due to the lack of confirmation regarding child abuse.
