“Squid Game”, which was released in September last year, set an unprecedented record in the history of Korean content for a year. In June, the production of “Squid Game” season 2 was confirmed based on consultations that were in line with mutual interests, including reward for creators for the success of season 1.

“Squid Game” revolves around a contest where 456 players, all of whom are in deep financial hardship, risk their lives to play a series of deadly children’s games for the chance to win a 45.6 billion won prize. The production cost of this work was 21.4 million dollars (about 25.3 billion won) and the total profit was more than 891.1 million dollars (1.546 trillion won).
