FIFTY FIFTY Members Initiate Exclusive Contract Dispute, Citing Lack of Transparency in Settlement

FIFTY FIFTY has released an official statement regarding the contract dispute with their agency Attrakt.

On June 28, four members of FIFTY FIFTY filed an application for the suspension of the exclusive contract with the Seoul Central District Court through their legal representative, stating that it was a measure taken in response to Attrakt’s breach of contract and the resulting destruction of trust.

The members said, “We have raised issues regarding various circumstances in which Attrakt violated the contract, such as non-transparent settlements and difficulties in carrying out activities despite disclosing their poor health conditions, among other obligations stipulated in the contract. We want to clearly emphasize that this decision was made by the four members independently, without any external intervention.

They continued, “We are well aware of how crucial this moment is, and we know that many people around us are concerned. We made a promise to become an artist who can have a positive influence. The four of us did not cooperate or support any wrongdoing. We made this decision truthfully, without any external pressure, solely with the intention of following our own path. We request that Attrakt no longer tarnishes the honor of FIFTY FIFTY members.”

Attrakt filed a criminal complaint against CEO An Sung Il of The Givers and three other individuals on June 27. CEO An Sung Il has been the main producer actively involved in the music production process for FIFTY FIFTY’s songs.

In an official statement released on June 23rd, Attrakt stated, “We have confirmed external forces attempting to approach our artists and induce them to violate their exclusive contracts with us. These external forces are engaging in illegal activities by criticizing us with baseless accusations of serious misconduct and creating false rumors to convince our artists to disregard valid exclusive contracts and sign contracts with them.”

The following is the full official statement from the members of FIFTY FIFTY.

We, the legal representative of FIFTY FIFTY’s members, Saena, Keena, Aran, and Sio, would like to speak.

The four members filed an application for the suspension of their exclusive contracts with the Seoul Central District Court through their legal representatives on June 19, and the trial is currently underway. This is a measure taken in response to Attrakt’s breach of contract and the resulting destruction of trust.

The members did not respond as the trial was underway. The legal representative pointed out various problems and sent a letter asking for the mistakes to be corrected, but Attrakt revealed their position with continuous articles without trying to explain the requirements.

The 4 members have tried to think and act independently despite their young age. After fully consulting with their parents, they came to raise the issue with the legal representative’s help. Nevertheless, Attrakt has not been listening to the members’ opinions, instead saying how “external forces are attempting to poach the members”. The members were very frustrated and disappointed with the fact that a member’s surgery was disclosed without consulting all involved parties.
