Now, it is simply impressive to see female actresses recognizing that underarm hair is a natural part of their bodies.
In a photo interview with fashion magazine “Bustle”, which was published on April 19th (local time), Rachel McAdams revealed that she did not shave her underarm hair for the shoot and requested minimal photo editing, stating, “This is my body, and I think that’s so important to reflect back out to the world. It’s okay to look your best and work at it and be healthy, but that’s different for everyone.”
In the released photos, she is seen lying on a sofa wearing a black sleeveless dress. In another photo, she wears a white slim dress, with her underarm hair visibly showing in both pictures. The unshaven photoshoot and lack of photo retouching has become a hot topic.
Back in 2022, Emma Corrin, star of the Netflix series “The Crown”, also stirred the internet with her underarm hair-exposing photoshoot. She even boldly exposed her underarm hair on the cover of fashion magazine “Vogue”, grabbing attention. As a result, Emma Corrin became the first Vogue cover model to expose her underarm hair.
Miley Cyrus is another star who passionately loves her armpit hair. In 2015, she wore a sleeveless dress at a public event and raised both arms, surprising viewers with her unshaven hair, as prominent as her tattoos on both arms.
Additionally, there was also Julia Roberts, who was ahead of her time and never afraid to openly embrace her armpit hair. In 1999, at the premiere of the movie “Notting Hill”, she raised her arm to greet fans, and her bushy underarm hair was captured on camera.
