On July 28th, Lee Jin-ho, a reporter-turned-YouTuber, posted a video titled “10 Hidden Secrets About ‘Woo Young-woo’ Kang Tae-oh”.

“Woo Young-woo” is Kang Tae-oh‘s last work before enlisting in the military, which is why he said he contacted all the offers very carefully, and the result was the role of Lee Jun-ho. “Originally, another actor was scheduled to play Lee Jun-ho, but Kang Tae-oh took the position,” Lee Jin-ho said.

Kang Tae-oh is said to have waited for the role Lee Jun-ho for more than a month. Although he had received the proposal of many other works, he still held a special will for the role of Lee Jun-ho. “’Woo Young-woo’ has become a big hit and he is receiving a lot of compensation for his patience,” the Youtuber said.

Kang Tae-oh had a hard time playing Lee Jun-ho at first. Lee Jin-ho said, “His real personality is more of a manly man style. According to acquaintances who have known him since he was young, Kang Tae-oh often expressed his desire to go to the UDT or the Marine Corps. Although the agency could not let him follow his will to maintain his acting career, he has put much more effort than before to play the role of Lee Jun-ho, who is gentle, because of his personality,” he shared some of the behind-the-scenes story.

The date of his enlistment has yet to be confirmed. Insiders are very disappointed because Kang Tae-oh stepped into his heyday just before joining the military, but Kang Tae-oh himself has vowed to go to the military as an active soldier, and is expected to join the military in September or at the end of August.

The response to Kang Tae-oh is also hot overseas. Lee Jin-ho said, “He is the first Korean male actor to be offered a European fan meeting tour. It was a tour through five European countries, including Germany, Spain, and Italy, but unfortunately, it is very unlikely to happen.” He said, “They are not making a hasty decision because he is about to join the military.” He is also filming short-term advertisement schedules only.

In addition, his semi-professional game skills, 2cm drinking capacity, and extraordinary popularity in Vietnam were also mentioned. Lee Jin-ho said, “The one thing Kang Tae-oh feels most regretful about is his role,” adding, “As the ‘Woo Young-woo’ becomes a hit, he is flooded with offers for male lead roles. Although he is enthusiastic about those male lead roles, it is virtually impossible because of his military enlistment. He said, ‘I can only say ‘thank you’ for the roles that are offered to me,” drawing attention.

Meanwhile, Kang Tae-oh made his debut with the web drama “After School: Lucky or Not” in 2013 and starred in the dramas “My First First Love,” “The Tale of Nokdu,” “Run On,” and “Doom At Your Service.”
