Ex-AOA Jimin, “I was very worried wondering if people will accept me again” (The Second World)

Former AOA member Jimin announced her return to the entertainment industry through “The Second World”.

In JTBC’s entertainment program “The Second World”, which aired on the evening of August 30th, Shin Ji-min (Jimin), who went on a long hiatus due to the controversy over conflicts between her group members in 2020, attracted keen attention when she took the stage.

Shin Ji-min expressed her feelings about returning to the entertainment industry after two years. Recalling the past, she said, “After the controversy, I spent days feeling empty in my house without turning on the light. I couldn’t do anything and also couldn’t sleep well. My sister came and slept next to me” adding “Time just passed. I lost a lot of weight that I used to be 39kg”.

She added, “I spent months not meeting people and living a life without the Internet. I went fishing and just got rid of all kinds of thoughts. It was nice. Then I began to think that I should start over”.

At the first meeting with “The Second World” production team in March, Jimin said, “I’m very nervous since you ask me to sing right away. But it’s something I have to do and I will continue to sing in the future, I can’t just sit still.”

In particular, Jimin confessed, “I was very scared and worried, wondering if people will accept me again”, drawing attention.

Jimin continued, “My sister was afraid that I might end my career as a singer in disgrace. I don’t know when it’ll be my last time, but I want to show my fans good performances. That’s why I have to do well (in this program)”, revealing her determination.

Meanwhile, “The Second World” is a vocal survival program for main rappers of K-pop girl groups. It airs every Tuesday at 8:50 p.m.
