Former AOA Shin Jimin who returned after announcing retirement: “I have been waiting so long for this moment”

Shin Jimin, a former AOA member, expressed her feelings about returning to broadcast after overturning her retirement 

On August 30th, Shin Jimin posted a photo of flowers on her Instagram, along with the caption: “Hello, this is Shin Jimin. I got a chance to appear on stage again with JTBC’s ‘Second World’. I have been waiting so long for this moment, but when I’m on stage, I feel very nervous and worried because I find myself lacking.”

“I will do my best to present good music and performances, I will become a singer who works hard,” she said, adding, “I really appreciate everyone who helped me stand on stage again today.”

Finally, she said: “Please show lots of love and interest in ‘Second World’, which is filled with wonderful seniors and juniors. Today’s the first broadcast!”

Shin Jimin debuted with famous Kpop girl group AOA in 2012, but withdrew from the group in 2020 after ex-member Kwon Minah accused Jimin of bullying her during promotions. On July 14th, Shin Jimin, who previously retired from the entertainment industry, signed an exclusive contract with ALO MALO Entertainment and announced her upcoming return. 

Meanwhile, the JTBC program “Second World”, which stars Shin Jimin, is a survival show where rappers from various Kpop girl groups compete fiercely to prove their singing ability. The pilot episode will air at 8:50 PM (KST) on August 30th.
