Former T-ara member Areum has garnered significant attention by announcing her divorce and remarriage simultaneously. Meanwhile, details of an interview with Areum have been reported, providing further insight
On Dec 11th, Edaily reported the content of a phone interview with Areum. Areum told Edaily, “I still can’t say much because I’m a bit cautious. I’m still in a situation where I continue to demand a divorce (from my ex-husband).“
Areum mentioned, “Some people speculate that I hastily posted on SNS due to my pregnancy (with my new partner). However, that’s not true. It’s not because I met a new person that I’m getting a divorce. I want to make it clear that I was preparing for a divorce even before meeting this person.”
Regarding her decision to participate in the interview with Edaily, Areum emphasized that it was to urge restraint from those making speculative malicious comments and writing posts that damage her reputation. She added “I’m currently taking legal action against malicious commenters” and urged people not to post negative comments.
Areum also mentioned her ex-husband in the interview. She confessed, “There were many things that couldn’t be said (during the time with my ex-husband). They were just momentary things in both my ex-husband’s lifetime and my lifetime. I hope we each live our lives well. I don’t want to go into detail.”
She concluded the interview by saying, “The divorce lawsuit isn’t over, so it’s difficult to talk in detail. I’d like to express my gratitude to those who show interest and support.”
On Dec 10th, Areum announced on Instagram, “Someone I want to be with has appeared by my side. He’s so precious that I didn’t want to reveal, a person like that. After much consideration, I’ve decided to reveal confidently.”
Areum revealed that she is currently in the process of divorcing the husband whom she married in 2019. She stated, “Before meeting the person I love, I lived in so much pain. It can’t be specified. There are many proofs I can show, but I won’t because he’s still my children’s father. I was in a divorced situation for a few years, but I haven’t been able to legally do it.”
She talked about the current situation, “I’m going to ride a train without a final stop to happiness. As soon as the lawsuit is over, we will register our marriage. I promised to marry him. I promised to achieve our dream together and establish the ‘Areum Foundation’ to help many children.”
Areum joined girl group T-ara in 2012 and was active for about 2 years. Later, in 2019, she married a non-celebrity.
