Woman In Her 20s Who Extorted 50 Million Won From Lee Sun-kyun Caught By Police While Fleeing

According to legal circles on December 27th, the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency executed an arrest warrant for A (female, 28 years old), who is facing blackmail charges.

A did not appear at the substantive questioning for an arrest warrant conducted at the Incheon District Court on the afternoon of the previous day without stating any reasons or excuses. 

Knowing A’s absence, the police began to check her whereabouts and found and executed the arrest warrant. Later on the same day, they secured A’s information and arrested her forcibly.

A was taken to the detention center at Nonhyeon Police Station in Incheon, and the arrest warrant questioning will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on the 28th at the Incheon District Chart. 

A is accused of threatening the late actor Lee Sun-kyun, who was suspected of taking drugs, and extorted 50 million won from him. Lee Sun-kyun previously sued A and the head of an entertainment establishment B (female, 29 years old) for blackmailing. Through his lawyer, the actor revealed that A and B threatened him so he handed over 300 million won to B and 50 million won to A. 

Meanwhile, Lee Sun-kyun was found dead in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 27th. His funeral is being held quietly with the attendance of the bereaved family and colleagues.

Earlier, the actor had been under police investigation on drug charges. He consistently denied the drug allegations after going through three police summons and also tested negative in all drug tests. In particular, Lee Sun-kyun raised doubts about the statement of the entertainment establishment head and requested a lie detector test.

However, the investigation is expected to be closed as it is no longer possible to prosecute the drug suspect.
