In the end, Cha Joo Young made a clear statement to the director on the day her casting was confirmed. She said, “I think I reached my limit as the audition was not over. I met the director with an expression full of frustration and anger”. She continued, “The directed asked me, “How have you been?”, and I responded using slang… I said, ‘I was like a XXX’”. The actress successfully won the role thanks to her answer that expressed the personality of Choi Hye Jung so well.

Cha Joo Young added, “That answer reflected my feelings at that time exactly. I loosened my rain and went to the audition that day”. The director confirmed the casting right on the day because he was very satisfied upon seeing the image of Choi Hye Jung from Cha Joo Young’s appearance.

Regarding the directors’ feedback, Cha Joo Young said, “I think the director also made a bet when he cast me. He decided to let me take the role with faith and anxiety”.

Cha Joo Young revealed that she was not very confident during the shooting and she felt the same way as her character Choi Hye Jung, who struggles to survive in the bully group. The actress said, “Before knowing me, fellow actors saw me as Choi Hye Jung so they were very surprised to know my real personality after we became closer. They only saw me running around and clinging to others on the set, but I’m actually a homebody”.

During the interview, Cha Joo Young also talked about the efforts she made to portray Choi Hye Jung. She said, “Except for the explanation that Choi Hye Jung is a friend who is easily swayed like a feather, there was no special request from the director. To have the glamorous appearance of Choi Hye Jung, I gained 5-6kg. Before the filming, I did research to study my character, but there was no character like Hye Jung”, showing off her passion for acting.

Netflix’s “The Glory” tells about the revenge plan carefully designed by a woman whose soul was broken due to the experience of school violence she suffered during her school days and people who fall into the revenge whirlwinds.

Netflix released the official trailer for Part 2, which is set to premiere on March 10th, on February 23rd, and draws enthusiastic responses from viewers.
