BTS’ Jimin contributed 100 million won in scholarship to the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education

Jimin, a member of boy band BTS, has contributed a scholarship fund for students in Busan which is his hometown.

The Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education revealed that Jimin has donated 100 million won in educational donations on May 7th. Mr. Park Hyun-soo, Jimin’s father, visited the education office in the afternoon of the same day and delivered the donation to Mr. Kim Seok-joon, superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education.

The donations received on the day will be used for students from low-income families at 16 schools in Busan, including Busan Arts High School, Geumsa Elementary School, Geumgok Middle School, Gamcheon Middle School and Busanjin Girl’s Commercial High School.

Jimin graduated from Hoedong Elementary School, Yun San Middle School, and Busan Arts High School in Busan.

At every graduation ceremony, Jimin has been making steady donations to 60 students at his old school, Hoedong Elementary School, by giving 60 students among the whole school BTS’ signed CDs and providing 10 graduates with middle school uniform fees,” the city’s education office said.
