BTS J-Hope, “My enlistment process has begun. I’ve been planning this since last year… I’ll be back soon”
BTS member J-Hope honestly expressed his feelings ahead of his military enlistment.
On February 26th, J-Hope hosted a live broadcast on the fan community Weverse. He began by saying “I think I should show my face and tell you this”.
He said, “The enlistment process began started today, but you don’t have to feel too sad because I’m not going to enlist right away”, adding “I did my best to film lots of things before joining the army. There are many things I want to show you too, so you don’t have to worry too much”, reassuring fans.
J-Hope confessed, “This time of the year has come again. In fact, I couldn’t say so many things in the recent live broadcast. It was my birthday, so I was also very careful about what I should say to you”, adding “I enjoyed the birthday live but I felt complicated somehow.”
He continued, “Since the announcement about my enlistment process already came out today, I think we can now talk to each other more comfortably”, adding “I’m 30 now. I’m already 30 years old. I think it’s the right time for me to go (to the military)”.
When a fan asked, “Did you call Jin?”, J-Hope smiled and said, “He called me as soon as the news was reported. He said, ‘J-Hope~ I heard the news’. I asked him lots of questions, about what I need to do, and he also gave me advice. It’s been a while since he joined the military”, adding “He said it’s been more than 80 days, and I got goosebumps thinking realizing that it has already been 80 days since he enlisted.”
In particular, J-Hope emphasized, “As you all know, I would go on a hiatus for military service, but knowing that you would love to see me during that time, I’ve been preparing many contents for you.”
He continued, “I prepared a gift before enlisting. It would be a big one since it’s my last gift for you before joining the army, so I hope you guys will look forward to it and show me so much interest, love, and support”, adding “I’ve been thinking about this plan since last year. While thinking about what I should do after Jin’s enlistment, I realized that it would be better if I go and be back as soon as possible and show you better performances.”
With a bright expression, J-Hope said, “Times flies so fast. J-Hope is already 30 years old, and his birthday has just passed. The time I’ve spent with you is very meaningful to me”, adding “It’s no big deal. I’ll be back soon”.
Reading the comment “J-Hope is now becoming a real ARMY (BTS’s fandom)”, J-Hope burst into laughter and replied, “Yes, I’m a real ARMY”, adding “I’ve always been a real ARMY”.
J-Hope will release the digital single and music video of his solo song “on the street” at 2 p.m. on March 3rd. This is a lo-fi hiphop song that has an easy-listening melody and warm lyrics. In particular, J-Hope also participated in composing and writing the lyrics to add hope and warmth to the song.
