Jennie of BLACKPINK is making her acting debut via an American series, where she stars alongside Johnny Depp’s daughter
Recently, a video titled “The Idol Official Teaser 2” was published on the official YouTube channel of American broadcasting station HBO.
This is a sneak peak of the upcoming HBO drama, “The Idol”, which deals with the story of rising pop stars within the music industry.
In the teaser video, BLACKPINK Jennie can be seen dancing with Johnny’s Depp daughter Lily-Rose Depp and famous pop singer Troy Sivan.
The female idol also reposted the 2nd teaser video of “The Idol” on her SNS, along with the caption “COMING SOON”. In the video, Jennie is introduced under the name of “Jennie Ruby Jane”, attracting attention.
Jennie also shared her feelings about this acting debut in a recent interview, saying: “I felt attracted to the script as soon as I read it, so I really wanted to star in the drama. I am very excited and will do my best, so I hope you watch with warm eyes.”
Jennie’s group BLACKPINK recently released the single “Pink Venom” and is currently active in promotional activities. The MV for “Pink Venom”, which was dropped on August 19th, is gaining great popularity, having surpassed 200 million views on YouTube within 7 days of its release.
