Girl group BLACKPINK met with President Macron of France and his wife.
According to YG Entertainment on January 29th, BLACKPINK attended the Le Gala des Pieces Jaunes concert held at the Le Zenith Arena in Paris, France on January 25th (local time).
French President Macron and first lady Brigitte also attended the event. The event was hosted by a charity foundation led by Mrs. Brigitte Macron.
The released photo shows BLACKPINK and French President Macron standing next to each other and smiling brightly at the camera.
BLACKPINK is the first K-pop artist to be invited to that concert. They performed together with famous pop stars, such as Pharrell Williams and MIKA.
Appearing on the concert stage, BLACKPINK sang their hit songs “Shut Down” and “Pink Venom”.
After the concert, Mrs. Brigitte Macron expressed her gratitude to BLACKPINK, saying “All the profits from ticket sales to the entire fund raised for the concert will be donated to the charity foundation. I welcome BLACKPINK members, who have tremendous influence around the world, to join us at this meaningful place”.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is gaining popularity around the world on the global diplomatic stage by participating in various public interest campaigns and various social activities. They have been appointed as UN Ambassadors for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG Advocate) as well as ambassadors for COP26.
