After the topic of male idols, it’s time to learn more about our lovely girl groups.
One of the most interesting things about Korean idol groups is that every group has many different kinds of appearances, personalities, hobbies and hometown backgrounds. But the characteristic that most groups have in common is that their shortest member is always considered to be the cutest member of the group, regardless of their ages or position in the group.
Let’s make a list of the shortest members in the current most popular K-pop girl groups!
Soyeon ((G)I-DLE)
Despite the cool personality and the swaggy look, Soyeon is actually a quite lovely and friendly girl. With the height of 1m57, she is shorter compared to the other 5 members of (G)IDLE.
Yoojung (Weki Meki)
Yoojung is known for being the short and adorable female idol since the first season of Produce 101 till her debut with I.O.I and Weki Meki. In Yoojung’s public profile, she lists her height as 1m57.
Luda (Cosmic Girls)
The odd thing is that despite being the shortest among 13 members of Cosmic Girls (1m57), the proportional body of Luda makes the fans believe that she is actually much taller than the data in her profile.
Baby Soul (Lovelyz)
Baby Soul, the leader of Lovelyz, is the eldest and shortest member of the group. She is only 1m58 tall.
Yeri (Red Velvet)
According to Red Velvet’s profiles published by SM Entertainment, both Yeri and Irene are the two shortest members of Red Velvet with the same height of 1m60. However, many fans have used some comparisons (especially in Red Velvet’s pictures with their SNSD sunbaes) to determine the shortest among the five of them. Some said that Yeri is only 1m57-1m58 tall and Irene is about 1m58 tall.
Chaeyoung (TWICE)
The identity of the shortest member in TWICE has always been a big mystery due to the many controversial sources about the height of both Dahyun and Chaeyoung. Examining the group photos, interview videos and official profiles, fans hypothesis that Chaeyoung is probably the shortest member with the height of 1m58 (exactly 1m58,6). Meanwhile, Dahyun is about 1m59 tall.
Seunghee (Oh My Girl)
Oh My Girl members have a lot of similarity in height, so it’s hard to spot the difference between their heights when they are standing together. Among all the heights of 1m58-1m59 members, Seughee, the main vocal, is considered to be the shortest member.
Whee In (MAMAMOO)
According to the sexy and seductive concept that MAMAMOO has been following, many people believe that they are a girl group in which every member is tall along with their long pair of legs. But no, actually they are not. In fact, the average height of all the members is only about 1m60-1m62. Among them, Whee In is the shortest member with a height of 1m58-1m59.
Ahin (MOMOLAND)
The slim and short bodies of Daisy and Nancy made many K-pop fans think that they are the shortest members in MOMOLAND. Surprisingly, Nancy and Daisy are both 1m62 compared to Ahin who is only 1m60, and is considered as the shortest member of the group.
Jisoo (BlackPink)
In BlackPink, Jisoo is not only the eldest member but also the shortest in the group with a height of only 1m62. Fortunately, Jennie is the same height as Jisso with the 1m63. The group now is the perfect combination of 2 short members and 2 tall members. It’s okay! The high heels will help the YG’s girl group resolve this difficult problem anyways.
Rena – Sungyeon (PRISTIN)
In PRISTIN, Rena and Sungyeon are the two shortest members with the same height of 1m62. The range difference of 10 cm between the tallest and shortest member is considered a significant gap.
Eunha (GFriend)
In the past, Eunha and Umji were known for their modest height of 1m63 among the group’s members. However, Umji recently has gotten 1-2cm higher so the title of “shortest member” of the group is fully given to Eunha.
Hyerin (EXID)
1m65 (?!) is a quite impressive height for women but standing in the middle of the other “giant” members of EXID with the heights of all about more than 1m70, Hyerin still looks like a lost (and very cute) baby.
