BLACKPINK becomes 1st Kpop group to hold solo concert in Mexico’s large stadium

With the announcement of additional dates for BLACKPINK’s BORN PINK World Tour, the girl group is officially entering a large Mexico stadium. 

On February 1st, YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK will be performing 5 additional concerts for their BORN PINK World Tour, including 1 night in Mexico City (Mexico), 2 nights in Melbourne (Australia), and 2 nights in Sydney (Australia).

Among those, the Mexico City concert will be held at the Foro Sol Stadium, which can accommodate a maximum capacity of 65,000 audiences. 

The Foro Sol Stadium was built in 1993, and has since become the performance venue for various international artists such as Madonna, Coldplay, One Direction, and Justin Bieber. A month prior to BLACKPINK, Billie Eilish will also hold a concert here. 

With the newly-announced date, BLACKPINK will become the first Kpop group to hold a solo concert in Foro Sol, further establishing the girl group’s position as a global artist.
