BB Girls Yujeong “My photos are being used for deepfake, I feel bad”

Minyoung and Yujeong appeared as panelists on tvN STORY’s “No Way I’m an Adult”, which aired on Feb 13th at 8:20 PM, for a session on “Our Memory”.

On this day, legal video analysis expert Hwang Min-goo gave a lecture on “Why Do We Fight with Memory”. Discussions revolved around what memory is, how memory errors can cause problems in criminal cases, and more. Minyoung and Yujeong were shocked by various cases where memory was trusted and the truth was distorted.

Following that, Minyoung and Yujeong actively participated in quizzes prepared to test memory, captivating attention. When asked “Which hand does General Yi Sun-sin, located in Gwanghwamun, hold the sword in?“, the two passionately answered relying on memory, but expressed surprise when they learned the correct answer differed from their memory.

In particular, Yujeong mentioned about deepfake crimes, “I learned through a friend’s tip-off that my photos were being used for deepfake. I felt bad. I think anyone, regardless of gender, can suffer enough damage. I’m curious if there’s a way to legally punish it.” She even raised a delicate question, “Is there a way to confirm the authenticity of deepfake, which is being exploited for crimes?“
