Angelababy’s Social Media Ban Lifted After Controversy over BLACKPINK Lisa’s Crazy Horse Show?

Rumor has it that Angelababy is ready to step back into the Chinese entertainment scene.

On January 30, iFeng reported that Angelababy and Jenny Zhang had their bans lifted on social media after being frozen for three months. The “This user is banned from speaking due to legal violations and related regulations” notice has disappeared from Angelababy’s Weibo and Douyin accounts.

Now, she can use her social media like normal, with no posting restrictions, allowing fans to message and follow her. On the other hand, Jenny Zhang’s ban was only lifted on Douyin.

This hints that Angelababy is in the clear after the controversy of attending BLACKPINK Lisa’s Crazy Horse show.

Back on November 1, 2023, Angelababy and Jenny Zhang were banned from speaking on social media for going to Paris, France to watch Lisa’s show at Crazy Horse. Their actions broke rules against Chinese celebrities participating in explicit performances and promoting activities against traditional customs. As a result, they got official warnings in the form of an unspoken blacklist, lasting for 3-6 months or a year.

 Jenny Zhang

Earlier info hinted that Angelababy’s ban was for three months, while Jenny Zhang’s was for a year. So, after serving their time, both Angelababy and Jenny Zhang can make their way back into the entertainment industry.

Even though the ban has been lifted, Angelababy has been keeping things low-key, without any announcements about her return to the entertainment scene. That’s why Chinese netizens are eagerly watching to see how she’ll stage her comeback. As for Jenny Zhang, with her Weibo still restricted, people are guessing her punishment is still up in the air.

The fallout from the Lisa incident hit Angelababy and Jenny Zhang hard, tarnishing their images and leading to canceled commercials and TV appearances.
