On November 18th when the 2022 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) was held, Super Junior Kyuhyun appeared on SBS Power FM’s “Cultwo Show”.

During the broadcast, a radio listener asked Kyuhyun, who used to score high in the CSAT exam, “Is it true that you couldn’t do the listening test because you had an infection in the middle ear at that time?”.

Kyuhyun recalled the day he took the CSAT in the past and said, “I was suffering from a middle ear infection during the preparation for CSAT, but it happened to rupture that day, so I could hardly hear anything with my right ear. My ear felt stuffy.”

Sitting beside Kyuhyun, DJ Kim Tae-kyun, was surprised to know that the male idol was able to get a high score even though he couldn’t hear well. He said, “If he hadn’t had the ear infection, he would have gotten a perfect score”. Kyuhyun humbly replied, “There’s no way to get a perfect score”, and claimed that it’s not easy to get full scores for CSAT.

In addition, Kyuhyun drew attention by telling another story about his CSAT experience.

He said he got so sensitive the day before the CSAT exam that he could even hear the sound of the living room clock ticking. Therefore, in order to sleep well, he removed all the batteries of the clock. Moreover, Kyuhyun continued to surprise everyone by confessing that he even played games until the day before the CSAT.

In 2016, when appearing on MBC FM4U Radio Show “Kim Shin-young’s Noon Song of Hope”, Kyuhyun said he regretted getting 2 answers wrong in the English listening test during the CSAT day because of his middle ear infection.

Meanwhile, Kyuhyun was accepted to the Postmodern Music Department at Kyung Hee University, where only students whose CSAT scores are in the top 5% can enter.
