A 163cm-53kg female idol shockingly confessed to receiving death threats for being chubby

Brave Girls’ Yujeong talked about her past experience of being hurt by body shaming comments.

On the May 14th broadcast of KBS’s “Diet”, Brave Girls’ Yujeong revealed she suffered from malicious comments on her weight.

Yujeong said while recalling Brave Girls’ overnight success, “We were scared of receiving zero attention. Until then, no matter what we did, no one knew about us except our company, families, and CEO. So we were set for disbandment, but then we blew up. At first, it felt ‘fresh’ because we suddenly gained so much attention, but it only lasted two to three months.”

Yujeong went on to shock everyone as she continued, “People called us ‘Pig Girls’ when we were promoting. I even received death threats in my DMs. When I went to a music show, someone sent me a message saying, ‘I’m going to kill you, sounds like a lie, right? Do you think I can’t kill you?’.”
