4 groups (Tempest, TNX, Kep1er, NewJeans) were honored with Rookie of the Year at the 30th Anniversary Hanteo Music Awards 2022.
The second day of the 30th Anniversary Hanteo Music Awards 2022 was held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the evening of February 11th. Actress/S.E.S member Eugene and broadcaster Shin Dong Yeop were the hosts of the event. Tempest, TNX, Kep1er, and NewJeans were announced as winners of Rookie of the Year.
Winning 2 trophies for Rookie of the Year and Global Rising Star Award, Tempest said, “We received two honorable awards today. We’re especially thankful to win Rookie of the Year, which we can only receive once in our career. We actually said everything we prepared previously”, adding “We will talk about iE (Tempest’s fandom), who we always appreciate. Our relationship, which is getting deeper as time goes by, is so great. Thanks to you all, Tempest members can feel much stronger. We feel like we can do anything for the rest of our life with you. We will work hard to become singers that you can be proud of”, expressing their deep affection for fans.
TNX members also gave their acceptance speech, saying “We are very nervous because we didn’t even expect to win this award. It’s an honor to receive such a big award right ahead of our comeback. We want to thank CEO Psy for always being our strong supporter. We’re also grateful to all the staff members who have been working days and nights for us”, adding “More than anything else, we were able to earn this achievement thanks to fans. Hope member Jun Hyuk will get well soon.”
Kep1er and NewJeans are the two female winners of Rookie of the Year. Kep1er shared, “Thank you for giving us the Rookie award that we can get only once in life. We want to thank all of our company staff and family members who have worked very hard for us. We will be a group that works without resting this year”, adding “We were able to receive this award thanks to our fans, who always support and love us. We will do our best for the performance today”.
NewJeans couldn’t attend the award ceremony but the group delivered their acceptance speech through a video. The members said, “We’re very happy. We had lots of interesting and happy times in 2022. Many people loved us and support us. That’s why we were able to achieve good results”, adding “Thank you to everyone who has shown great interest in us and love us. Thank you Bunnies and we love you all”.
Meanwhile, the 30th Anniversary Hanteo Music Awards 2022 was held offline to mark the 30th anniversary of Hanteo Chart.
