Biography
Jisung is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor. He is a member of the boy band NCT Dream, one of the sub-units of the South Korean group NCT, managed by SM Entertainment. Jisung is recognized as one of the group’s main dancers and contributes as a sub-vocalist and rapper.
Early Life and Education
Park Ji-sung was born on February 5, 2002, in Seoul, South Korea. He developed an interest in dance and performance at an early age, studying popping and other street dance styles and performing with youth dance crews. During his childhood, he also appeared as a child actor in various television dramas, films, and commercials, including the children’s program TV Kindergarten Funny Funny and appearances in dramas and films such as Deep Rooted Tree and Go, Stop, Murder.
Career
2013–2015: SM Rookies and Pre-Debut
In 2013, Jisung participated in the Mnet dance program Dancing 9, where he drew attention for his dance skills. He was subsequently scouted by SM Entertainment and became a trainee, joining the company’s pre-debut team SM Rookies later that year. As an SM Rookie, he participated in global concert tours and appeared in SM promotional content alongside future NCT Dream members. Jisung also appeared in TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho’s “Champagne” music video and was a cast member of The Mickey Mouse Club during his SM Rookies tenure.
2016–Present: Debut with NCT Dream and Activities
Jisung officially debuted with NCT Dream on August 25, 2016, with the release of the single Chewing Gum. The group quickly gained popularity for its youthful image and energetic performances. Over time, NCT Dream evolved into a permanent sub-unit with broad musical range and international success.
In addition to group activities, Jisung has participated in dance-related television programs such as Why Not? The Dancer (2018) and Dancing High (2018), showcasing his performance strength and dance versatility. In 2020, he temporarily stepped back from promotions due to a knee injury, prioritizing recovery. With the release of NCT Dream’s Hot Sauce album in 2021, he became the youngest K-pop idol to achieve double-million album sales.
In January 2026, Jisung is reported to have joined the main cast of the television series Crash (Season 2) as Ji Dae-se, marking a further expansion of his acting career.
