SM Entertainment is facing backlash after fans noticed a major editing mistake in a promotional image featuring Jisung ahead of NCT’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
The controversy erupted after the agency released teaser photos for NCT 10TH ANNIVERSARY [NCT 2026] POP UP : NEO GROUND, a special pop-up event running from May 15 to May 23 to commemorate the group’s decade-long career.
Shortly after the images were uploaded to official social media accounts, eagle-eyed fans pointed out that Jisung appeared to have six fingers in one of the promotional photos. The mistake immediately sparked criticism online, with many netizens suspecting the image had been edited using AI tools.

Although the photo was eventually replaced after fans raised complaints, many were further frustrated that the company did not release any official explanation or apology regarding the incident.
The image quickly spread across Korean online forums, where reactions became increasingly heated. Comments included:
- “SM, have you seriously lost your minds?”
- “Did they use AI editing after the photoshoot?”
- “They take fans’ money but can’t even properly check a photo before posting it.”
- “At least don’t use AI on artists’ official photos.”
- “What’s the difference between idols and virtual characters at this point?”

Many fans expressed disappointment not only over the editing error itself, but also over what they viewed as a lack of effort and quality control from the agency during such an important anniversary event.
Meanwhile, NCT continues preparations for its large-scale 10th anniversary promotions, including exhibitions, merchandise releases, and special fan events celebrating the group’s milestone year.
