Bai Lu is reportedly facing massive criticism online after her recent appearance on the popular variety show Keep Running sparked accusations of disrespectful behavior toward senior cast members.
According to Chinese media reports, the actress allegedly lost more than 200,000 followers within just three days as backlash continued to spread across social media platforms.
The controversy began after Bai Lu referred to veteran Keep Running members Li Chen and Zheng Kai as “energetic elderly people” during the show. Some viewers also criticized her actions during a water-splashing game segment, claiming she acted too aggressively before the competition officially started.
Online criticism quickly escalated, with some netizens accusing Bai Lu of trying to position herself as the new “top female member” of the show during Angelababy’s absence. Many longtime viewers argued that Angelababy’s status as the show’s iconic female face could not easily be replaced.
Despite the growing controversy, neither Bai Lu nor her studio has released an official statement addressing the backlash. This silence fueled speculation that her contract with entertainment company Huanyu Entertainment may soon expire, with rumors suggesting the actress could establish her own independent studio in the future.
Producer Yu Zheng later responded to fans asking why the company was not defending Bai Lu more aggressively. In a lengthy message, he stated:

Meanwhile, Bai Lu’s rumored past relationship with Zhang Linghe has once again resurfaced amid the controversy. The two stars were previously linked after starring together in Story of Kunning Palace, with Chinese paparazzi claiming Bai Lu was Zhang Linghe’s only confirmed relationship since debuting. However, neither actor ever publicly acknowledged dating rumors.
Reports also alleged that career pressures, management issues, and family opposition contributed to their rumored breakup. Since breakup rumors surfaced, fans noticed the two celebrities have had almost no public interaction, further fueling speculation online.
