Chinese actress Fan Bingbing continues to keep fans guessing as speculation swirls over her rumored appearance at the 62nd Golden Horse Awards. The star, who has not attended the Taiwanese awards ceremony in nine years, is nominated for Best Actress for her performance in Green Night (《地母》). While her participation remains unconfirmed, a curious update has stirred online discussion: her Weibo IP location now shows Hubei, sparking hopes she may be in transit to Taiwan.

As of press time, her Weibo IP places her in Hubei, a province with direct flights to Taipei Taoyuan International Airport—just a 2.5 to 3-hour journey. The coincidence has raised eyebrows, with many wondering if Fan will make a last-minute entrance at the award ceremony.
The suspense deepened on November 21, when Green Night director Glen Goei (Zhang Ji’an) was asked about Fan’s possible attendance at the Golden Horse Luncheon. His playful response only added fuel to the rumors:
“I’ll surprise everyone tomorrow,” he said with a smile, before quipping, “I can bring a bowl of rice and a glass of ice to represent her.”

Goei had previously revealed that Fan was extremely emotional upon learning of her nomination, even crying on the phone with him.
“We’re still finalizing last-minute details, including her schedule and visa. She really wants to attend,” he shared.
Fan Bingbing has struggled to regain full access to China’s entertainment industry following her 2018 tax scandal, prompting her to shift focus to overseas markets. Her return to the Golden Horse Awards—if it happens—would mark a symbolic milestone in her international comeback.

For now, the mystery remains, but her fans remain hopeful: will Fan Bingbing make a dramatic return to the Golden Horse stage after nearly a decade?
