The images began circulating on June 6 and were reportedly shared through Instagram’s “Close Friends” feature, which limits posts to selected followers. They appear to have been captured and leaked by someone with access to the private list. However, the authenticity of the screenshots has not been independently confirmed.

Alleged Political Comments Draw Attention

Several of the leaked posts reportedly contained strong political opinions. In one screenshot, Kim allegedly shared a post accusing South Korea’s Democratic Party of damaging the country. She reportedly added a comment suggesting that martial law may have been the desperate action of a politically weakened president.

Another alleged post criticized economic inequality and used communism as a comparison. She also reportedly praised her boyfriend for earning money in US dollars. The leaked material also allegedly included profanity, comments about wanting to give up a pet, and other strongly worded personal remarks.

Some of the most serious criticism concerns posts in which Kim allegedly shared sensational claims about actresses and female reality-show contestants receiving financial sponsorship from wealthy individuals. On June 6, Kim Ji Min shared a public apology on Instagram, saying, “I sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people due to posts written in my personal space over the past few days.”

She continued, “As someone who receives more love and attention from the public than I deserve, I should have always acted more carefully and maturely. I feel heavy-hearted for disappointing and making many people uncomfortable due to my immaturity.” She added, “Even though it was a limited space, I deeply reflect on the fact that sharing my personal opinions caused harm and discomfort.”

Kim also addressed mentions of fellow influencer Park Hee Sun, saying, “I sincerely apologize to Park Hee Sun, her agency staff, and fans for the unintended pain and damage caused by images whose facts had not been clearly verified.”

She further explained that not all of the controversial posts had been written solely by her. “Due to unauthorized leaks without consent and the spread of false information, not only I but also my family and those close to me are facing significant difficulties,” she said, adding that she is reviewing legal action within necessary limits to prevent the situation from worsening.

Kim concluded her statement by saying, “Above all, what I hope for is that the additional sharing and spread of unverified information will stop.” She added, “I will take this incident as an opportunity to reflect deeply on myself and strive to show a more mature and responsible side moving forward.”
