Chinese actress Wang Zichun, known for playing Xiaolongnü in The Return of the Condor Heroes 2024, is facing intense backlash after her behavior on the dating reality show Secrets In Love Season 2 caused widespread controversy.
According to QQ, the actress whose acting portfolio remains limited has become the center of heated online criticism.
During a segment where Wang Zichun went on a private outing with male cast member Zheng Tianhao, tension erupted after female guest Bao Xiening jokingly called Zheng Tianhao and told him to find her within 10 minutes.
Bao Xiening later clarified it was just a joke meant to “give them space,” but Wang Zichun reacted strongly, accusing Bao Xiening of deliberately sabotaging her date. She became visibly upset and even considered stopping the filming.
Wang Zichun expressed fear that the situation would spark rumors about “two women fighting over a man,” something she claimed she wanted to avoid.
When Bao Xiening apologized, Wang Zichun repeatedly cut her off, making remarks that many viewers found arrogant and dismissive. She insisted that Bao Xiening would be “definitely cursed by netizens” and worried her own fans might attack Bao Xiening online.
The actress said she was concerned the drama would harm her reputation and hinted she might need to “use her media connections” to manage the situation.
Viewers quickly criticized her attitude:

- Playing victim while creating more drama.
Her 2024 Condor Heroes remake already received poor reception, scoring 4.6/10 on Douban, yet critics noted she spoke as if she were already an A-list star.
According to QQ, staff from the show leaked an audio clip in which Wang Zichun allegedly:
- Called Bao Xiening a “green tea” (a derogatory slang implying manipulative innocence)
- Encouraged Zheng Tianhao to speak badly about Bao to other male guests
- Displayed condescending behavior toward multiple cast members
The leak intensified public anger, with many viewers labeling her behavior as “mean-spirited,” “immature,” and “self-centered.”
Wang Zichun, born in 2001, first gained fame as a teen social-media beauty at age 15. With striking visuals often compared to Liu Yifei and Angelica Lee, she became a campus icon after entering the Beijing Film Academy in 2020, ranking 5th nationwide in the artistic exam.
Although promoted as part of the emerging “10X generation of rising actresses,” critics argue she has far overstated her fame, given her lack of notable roles and limited acting experience. Her role as Little Dragon Girl in The Return of the Condor Heroes 2024 considered her first major opportunity was widely panned, slowing down her career momentum.
Since the drama’s failure, she has mainly appeared in short online films. This new scandal has now derailed her reputation further.
Social media in China is now filled with comments calling for: a boycott of her future projects, removal from the dating show and a public apology to Bao Xiening.
Many netizens now refer to her as a “self-proclaimed star with no achievements.”
