Weki Meki finally released its fifth mini-album “I AM ME.” on digital music sites at 6 p.m. on November 18th.

The album received keen attention from domestic and foreign music fans as it’s Weki Meki‘s first comeback after the release of its 4th mini album “NEW RULES” in October last year. Like the album name “I AM ME.”, Weki Meki has honestly told the story of young people in their 20s. The members did not only sing and perform, but also took the lead in writing and composing songs to complete the album with Weki Meki’s color.

The title song “Siesta” is a cheerful pop song with impressive electronic and deep house melodies. The song was created by composers Anna Timgren and Harold Philippon, who created hit songs such as Oh My Girl‘s “Dun Dun Dance” and TWICE‘s “The Feels”.

Siesta” means a nap in Spanish. Through the song’s lyrics, the group expressed their hope to provide comfort and healing to fans with Weki Meki-like music and stages, just like how a nap gives vitality to one’s daily life.

In addition to “Siesta,” the new album contains a total of six songs with hopeful lyrics, including “Who am I,” “Luminus,” “Sweet Winter,” “First Dream,” and “One Day.”

Through the music video, Weki Meki showed their growing image. Weki Meki expressed the process of finding identity through the “Identity” version concept photo taken in white outfits. The group later had a soft but firm and bold concept through the colorful music video of “Siesta.” The appearance of the members smiling pleasantly and happily in front of the firecrackers exploding along with all kinds of worries and anxiety is expected to arouse sympathy among young people, who hope to find happiness among hardships.
