Heo Young-ji Confirmed Goo Hara’s Voice In KARA’s New Song Is Real And Not Made By AI

On July 19th, a video was uploaded on the YouTube channel “Merry Go Round,” featuring KARA’s Heo Young-ji as a guest.

In this video, host Kim Jong-min asked, “Did you talk with the older members a lot when you were resting?” and Heo Young-ji said, “I debuted when I was too young, then took a short break from activities with them, so this was before I became close to them. I thought a lot about whether I should contact them first, but I was glad that Seung-yeon contacted me first to see if I was doing well. She bought me a meal and we chatted a lot. I was so grateful. It was a time when I was just wandering around.”

Heo Young-ji confessed that she felt so awkward at first with Park Gyu-ri. “She was always watching me whether I was good or not. When we had a reunion two years ago, I even confessed to her, ‘I don’t think I knew you very well.’ She said that she became close to Nicole, saying, “When we got reunited two years ago, I didn’t know Nicole and Ji-young (the two members who left before Young-ji joined KARA). It was really comfortable because they approached me first,” Heo said.

Heo Young-ji said that the group’s pre-released song “Hello” contains the voice of the late Goo Ha-ra. “It’s a song that contains the feelings of our members. That’s where Ha-ra’s voice comes from,” Heo said. “She recorded it a long time ago. Some people think it’s AI, but it’s her voice. Our members put their heart and soul into recording each and every word, and it became a song that we love a lot.”
