Stars Known As MBC’s Sons & Daughter: Hyeri, Park Hyung-sik & Henry

Hyeri, Park Hyung-sik, and Henry are stars who have benefited a lot after appearing in the program “Real Man”

Known for her legendary 3-second aegyo, Hyeri recently recalled her memories of “Real Man”. When Hyeri appeared on MBC’s “My Fluffy Friends” recently, Jung Jae-hyung asked, “Isn’t she MBC’s daughter? She created something very famous”. Shin Kyu-jin immediately imitated Hyeri’s aegyo in “Real Man”, and Hyeri even surprised everyone when she commented, “It’s already 10 years ago”.

Earlier in 2014, during the last greeting with her senior in “Real Man”, Hyeri made headlines with her “Aing~” aegyo while crying. Her aegyo fluttered male viewers’ hearts and it is still considered a legendary scene in entertainment programs. After “Real Man”, Hyeri has continued active activities as a singer and an actress.

Actor Park Hyung-sik, who used to be active in the boy group ZE:A, was also a “Real Man” cast. Previously known for his splendid visual, Park Hyung-sik impressed viewers with his clumsiness after joining the military in “Real Man” and even gained the nickname “baby soldier. Despite that, he was very diligent in every training.

While on the show, Park Hyung-sik expressed admiration for military food when trying it for the first time and performed a stormy mukbang. This friendly and easygoing charm of the actor successfully captivated many fans. Later in 2019, Park Hyung-sik surprised everyone when he delivered the news of his enlistment in the same field as the one he experienced in “Real Man”. On a broadcast, he shared, “I was very amazed. I didn’t know that either. I guess the military environment suits me well. I’m going to get compliments in the army”.

The phrase “1도 모르겠다 (I don’t know a thing)” once went viral because of Henry’s appearance on “Real Man”. In 2014, Henry joined a quiz in the show and drew laughter with his reaction, “I don’t know a thing about what you’re saying”.

Henry

Since Henry is a foreigner, he is not familiar with Korean slang and military terms. Therefore, he brought laughter to viewers when he called the stranglehold of Taekwondo as “neck slice” and earned the nickname “military ignorant”. Henry was trained at the Baekdu Mountain bootcamp in Yanggu, Gangwondo but he brought sunglasses, making everyone burst into laughter because of his lack of knowledge about the military.

After the broadcast, Henry’s answer became a meme that has been used very frequently on social media. However, Henry has not been active in Korea ever since his pro-China controversy broke out.
