BLACKPINK performs “Shut Down” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” for the 1st time: Disappointing camera work and lighting
BLACKPINK serves visuals on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” but the camera work and lighting receive complaints.
On September 19 (local time), to kick off their promotions for the 2nd full album “BORN PINK” in the US, BLACKPINK had their first stage for the latest title track “Shut Down” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”.
On “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, BLACKPINK exploded with stunning visuals, good live singing skills, and top-notch stage presence. The new outfits drew praise for complimenting the members’ physiques. However, although BLACKPINK stuns with their looks and auras, the overall performance causes disappointment due to poor stage lighting and camera work.
Before the official video of the performance was released, phone camera photos of BLACKPINK taken by fans who attended the recording were posted on SNS. BLACKPINK members’ beauty once again created a buzz.
For this long-awaited comeback, BLACKPINK plans to promote mainly in the US. The group recently visited Target, where physical copies of “BORN PINK” are being sold. They also appeared at a pop-up event held by Spotify.
Currently, BLACKPINK is focusing on promoting “BORN PINK” in the US. They will later return to Korea and perform on weekly music shows to meet with domestic fans. BLACKPINK is also preparing for their upcoming world tour that starts in Seoul. BLACKPINK’s large-scale tour with stops in Asia, North America, and Europe will last until June 2023.
