From Jun Ji Hyun to Hyun Bin, many celebrities have made astronomical amounts in profits through real estate investment.
Recently, actor Lee Byung Hun reportedly purchased a building worth 24 billion won (approx. 18.8 million USD) in the Oksu-dong area of Seongdong-gu through a corporate project owned by his mother.
The building has a land area of 732 square meters and a total floor area of 2,494.76 square meters, spanning across 2 basement floors and 6 ground floors. It was built in September 2021 and is currently leased to an international school for a deposit of 1 billion won and a monthly rent of 85 million won. After acquiring the building, Lee Byung Hun is said to be receiving a monthly rental income of 85 million won.
Previously in March 2018, Lee Byung Hun purchased a building in Yeongdeungpo-gu for 26 billion won and sold it in July 2021 for 36.8 billion won, earning a profit of over 10 billion won.
Meanwhile, actress Jun Ji Hyun bought a building in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, for 8.6 billion won in 2007, remodeled it, and sold it for 23.5 billion won this year. In 2014, she purchased a detached house in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, for 7.5 billion won and sold it for 13 billion won in 2020.
Currently, Jun Ji Hyun owns several properties, including a building in Samsung-dong, Gangnam-gu, purchased for 58 billion won in 2013, a two-story building in Yichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, purchased for 325 billion won in 2017, and a three-story building in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu, purchased for 50.5 billion won in February of last year. Actor Hyun Bin and his wife, actress Son Ye Jin, are also not to be left out. Finally, actress Kim Tae Hee purchased a building near Gangnam Station for 13.2 billion won in 2014 and sold it for 20.3 billion won this year, making a profit of 7.1 billion won in seven years. Her husband, singer-actor Rain, bought a building in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, for 16.8 billion won in 2008 and sold it for 49.5 billion won this year. The couple’s total profit from their buildings amounts to a staggering 39.8 billion won.
