“Rich & Famous” IU Uses a Black Card? 2.5 Million Won in Annual Fee Alone

A recent video reveals IU using a premium black card, drawing massive attention and admiration to her astounding wealth.

On March 19, a video titled “[IU TV] Buying a birthday present for my little brother vlog” was uploaded on the official YouTube channel of IU

In the video, IU can be seen visiting a luxury store to buy a belated birthday gift for her brother.

When her younger brother chose clothes he wanted to buy, IU stood in front of the cashier and asked if he found it satisfying shopping. To this, her brother replied with a smile, saying jokingly, “Money can’t make you happy, but… money can make someone else happy. I learned it from my sister”.

As IU completed the card payment, her brother asked, “Did it (the payment) get processed at once?” to which IU nodded confidently as if it were obvious.

After the video was released, IU’s card usage became a hot topic online.

In particular, the card she pulled out was Woori Bank’s “TWO CHAIRS” Black Premium Card. It is known that this card requires an annual fee of 2.5 million won (approx. 1,800 USD) and one of the conditions for membership is having a deposit of 5 billion won (approx 3.7 million USD) in the account.

This has drawn attention to IU’s extraordinary wealth. Previously, some of her assets were revealed on KBS 2TV’s “Entertainment company Live” broadcast in December 2022.
