Fans Call Out Big Hit For Treating TXT’s Beomgyu Unfairly Over the Last 4 Years

Fans have listed out the injustices faced by TXT’s Beomgyu since his debut

Fans have expressed their anger and concerns over the unfair treatment TXT’s Beomgyu has endured from his own management label, Big Hit Music. TXT’s latest comeback has only intensified these concerns.

Beomgyu’s constant struggle with limited line distribution in TXT’s songs has been a long-standing issue for the fans. In TXT’s most recent album, “The Name Chapter: FREEFALL,” Beomgyu shockingly has no solo lines in the track “Happily Ever After.”

At TXT’s comeback showcase on October 14th, when the group performed “Happily Ever After,” Beomgyu was given only 5 seconds of another member’s line. This act by Big Hit seemed like an acknowledgment of the lack of lines given to Beomgyu, and a superficial attempt to make up for it during the live performance.

Let’s take a closer look at the instances where Beomgyu’s talent and potential have been unfairly suppressed.

Unfair Line Distribution:

In TXT’s latest comeback, Beomgyu sang for just over 2 minutes in a full album with a runtime of nearly 30 minutes. Previous songs by TXT also showcased inappropriate line distribution towards Beomgyu, with instances like 13 seconds in “New Rules,” 17 seconds in “Ghosting,” and 14 seconds in “Tinnitus.”

Even in TXT’s covers, Beomgyu consistently received very few lines, such as 16 seconds out of 2 minutes and 20 seconds in the cover of “Thank U Next” and 10 seconds out of 3 minutes and 32 seconds in “In My Blood.”

Limited Solo Opportunities

Beomgyu’s solo part in “Opening Sequence” was removed from performances in year-end award shows, such as MAMA 2022 and Gayo Daechukje 2022. Moreover, during these performances, he was the only member who didn’t stand in the center.

Big Hit has also been known to mix Beomgyu’s voice with other members or adjust his vocal tone, hindering his ability to showcase his talents in singing.

Restricted Individual Activities

Beomgyu had to repeatedly request the agency’s approval to film a video for his first cover, initially only being allowed to use an image. His request to film a challenge with Keria, a gamer from the SKT T1 team, was denied.

Similarly, Beomgyu had to plead with the agency to play the guitar for the song “Blue Spring,” which he had composed on the program “AKMU The Seasons.”

Unequal Treatment

Beomgyu has expressed his aspirations to become an MC and DJ on a radio show and to participate in variety shows. However, he has been granted fewer opportunities compared to other TXT members. He has never been given the chance to be a special MC on any music show.

Neglect in Outfits and Hair Styling

Beomgyu has faced neglect in terms of styling, particularly outfits and hairstyles. In June 2023, fans took a stand, rallying outside the HYBE building with truck protests, urging Big Hit to pay attention to Beomgyu’s individual schedule and styling. However, as of now, little seems to have changed, and the situation appears to be worsening.

Beomgyu has both skills and visuals. His sense of humor has also endeared him to MCs on entertainment programs. The question arises: has the agency fully recognized these talents, or has Beomgyu been deprived of the recognition and opportunities he rightfully deserves?

Ultimately, TXT is five, and all members should be treated with fairness and respect.
