Viewers are showing mixed reactions to SBS’ Friday-Saturday drama “The Escape Of The Seven”
“The Escape of the Seven,” which drew attention as the new production of “Penthouse” writer Kim Soon-ok, drew attention from its first broadcast with an unconventional storyline.
Many viewers have been posting negative comments and reactions, such as, “It’s disgusting,” “A minor gives birth to a child at school?” The drama is too far-fetched, “The content seems to go too far,” “The drama that can make you psychotic,” and “No teacher is taking bribes, hitting, and discriminating these days. Apologize,” “Just abolish it.” These viewers are demanded SBS to release an official apology and writer Kim Soon-ok to step down.
However, some viewers showed conflicting reactions, such as “drama should be viewed as drama,” “I cannot stop watching it,” and “I’m having fun watching it.”
As complaints continued to be made to the Korea Communications Standards Commission, the production team took a strong move and replaced the show’s main PD.
Meanwhile, “The Escape of the Seven” has been embroiled in controversy since its first broadcast over its “extreme” material, including a high school girl who gave birth at school, a mother who beat and abused her biological daughter, and a corrupt teacher.
