10 Years Since Trouble Maker Released “Now” With Hyuna’s Exposure & Smoking Jang Hyun-seung

The duo Trouble Maker by Jang Hyun-seung and Hyuna once shook the music industry with their 19+ concept

On October 28th, 2013, Trouble Maker released their second mini album “Chemistry”. It was their first comeback in two years after making their debut with the song “Trouble Maker” in 2011.

The title song “Now” was jointly composed by Shinsadong Tiger and Rado. It has an addictive melody and a dreamy vibe.

When “Now” was released, its music video became a hot topic as it contained provocative scenes. It was inspired by the motif of “Bonnie & Clyde”, a real male and female duo in the 1930s.

Jang Hyun-seung and Hyuna appeared in the music videos as lovers having a fight in a camping van. During the fight, Hyuna’s underwear was exposed, revealing her chest lines. Jang Hyun-seung also shocked everyone as he took off his top and was seen drinking and smoking. There were also scenes of the two’s bold physical contact. They touched each other’s bodies and had deep kisses.

Containing provocative and suggestive scenes, the music video was restricted to people over 19 years old. It was judged not suitable for teenagers to watch due to violence and sensationalism.

Hyuna and Jang Hyun-seung challenged a bold and unrivaled concept although they were both active as idols at that time. This concept caught keen public attention as only Trouble Maker could do it.

“Now” rose to No.1 on major music sites in Korea after its release. In particular, the song even achieved No.1 on Melon Weekly Chart in the fourth week of October 2013. In addition, “Now” swept all the trophies on music programs, including Music Bank, Music Core, and Inkigayo.
