Yoo Yeon Seok expected to boost “Dr. Romantic 3” performance with his appearance as Kang Dong Joo until the last episode

Actor Yoo Yeon Seok will reportedly appear on SBS’s Fri-Sat drama “Dr. Romantic 3” as Kang Dong Joo until the drama ends.

According to a report by OSEN on June 4th, Yoo Yeon Seok, who played the role of Kang Dong Joo in Season 1, will continue his role in Season 3 until the last episode following his short appearance in episode 12 released on the 3rd.

It was revealed on the latest broadcast that Kang Dong Joo would take over the position of Cha Jin Man (Lee Kyung Young), who resigned as the trauma center director. In the next episode, Kang Dong Joo will officially return as Doldam Hospital GS and trauma center director. In particular, Kim Sa By (Han Suk Kyu) described Kang Dong Joo as someone who is a little stronger than him, raising viewers’ anticipation.

At the news of Kang Dong Joo’s return after six years since Season 1 when Season 3 has only four episodes left, many viewers wondered whether Yoo Yeon Seok would only make a special appearance or stay with Kim Sa Bu and Doldam family until the end.

As a result, it has recently been confirmed that Yoo Yeon Seok will meet viewers as Kang Dong Joo until Season 3 ends, and his comeback is expected to add full strength to the popularity of “Dr. Romantic 3”.

Released on May 30th, “Dr. Romantic 3” topped Good Data TV-OTT drama buzzworthy ranking in the 4th week of May, showing a significant increase in popularity compared to the result of the previous week. Especially, the male lead Ahn Hyo Seop even ranked No.1 among drama casts for the first time.

Above all, Yoo Yeon Seok’s comeback to Doldam Hospital will push the development of the story in the last four episodes.

Airing three years after the end of Season 2, “Dr. Romantic 3” is currently one of the K-dramas with the highest quality. The synergy between its writer, director, and actors is really impressive. Attention is focused on the impact that JTBC’s “Doctor Cha”, which also airs on Saturdays, will have on “Dr. Romantic 3” as it will end today (June 4th). Previously, both Season 1 (2016) and Season 2 (2020) of the “Dr. Romantic” series achieved the highest rating record of 27%.
