“The Interest of Love” Yoo Yeon Seok and Moon Ga Young, “There are similarities with the original novel, and many improved details”
Yoo Yeon Seok and Moon Ga Young revealed their thoughts on the differences between the drama “The Interest of Love” and the original novel.
The online press conference for JTBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “The Interest of Love” was held on the afternoon of December 21st. Actors Yoo Yeon Seok, Moon Ga Young, Geum Sae Rok, Jung Ga Ram, and director Jo Young Min attended the event.
Director Jo Young Min directed “Do You Like Brahms?” and received favorable reviews for his delicate portrayal of young people’s emotions when considering between dreams and love. He said, “My previous work was a melodrama, so I worried about doing a melodrama again. However, I received the script and found out it was so fun. I realized that this love story was different from what I did in my previous work. It’s more realistic and empathetic. I was also happy to work with many great actors.”
The drama is based on a novel of the same name by Lee Hyuk Jin. When asked if he had read the original work, Yoo Yeon Seok said, “I read the novel. I think the biggest difference (between the novel and the drama) is that the pictures and videos that readers could imagine while reading were actually portrayed through the screen with careful selection and concentration. We tried to express it with our own interpretation. There are many similarities in the relationships and settings of the characters. You can find a hint to understand the characters through them. Many lines still remain in my head like words from the novel.”
Moon Ga Young added, “I enjoyed reading the original work, and the drama script was also interesting. For those who have already read the novel, it would be fun to see which part will become the ending of the drama. There will be more episodes in the bank and stories of each family.”
“The Interest of Love” is a melodrama about people with different interests meeting and getting to know the meaning of true love. It premieres at 10:30 p.m. on December 21st.
