YG Entertainment issued an official statement regarding news of BIGBANG Taeyang’s solo comeback in January.
On December 2nd, music industry officials said that BIGBANG Taeyang will release a new album in January 2023. If the rumors were true, this will be his first solo comeback after 5 years, since the 2017 album “White Night”.
However, on the same day, Taeyang’s agency, YG Entertainment, responded to the rumors by saying, “Nothing has been confirmed yet”.
Taeyang’s last release was his participation in the cheering song “Louder” for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics. Ever since, the male idol has had no solo activities.
After marrying actress Min Hyo Rin in February 2018, Taeyang stopped his activities to enlist in the military. He was discharged on November 10, 2019, and in December of 2021, he announced that Min Hyo Rin had given birth to a son.
Taeyang, who has been focusing on his married life, showed off his singing skills with the digital single “Still Life” by Big Bang in April 2022. The song ended up topping various domestic music charts and even making it to the top of many major charts of the US Billboard.
Attention is being focused on Taeyang’s official comeback schedule, or if there is one.
