Episode 11 of “Marry My Husband” has been eagerly anticipated by viewers since the teaser was released. It brings forth one of the most crucial moments in the series, where Ji-won (Park Min-young) completely rejects the “trash” named Min-hwan (Lee Yi-kyung) as Min-hwan and Soo-min (Song Ha-yoon) officially step into the wedding venue. Of course, this wedding cannot proceed smoothly when Ji-won is accompanied by 3 special characters who cause chaos.
On the long-awaited wedding day, Kang Ji-won appears in a white outfit similar to Jung Soo-min’s wedding dress. This is considered taboo in Korea, as there is an unspoken rule that guests should not wear white to avoid clashing with the bride. She presents Soo-min with a luxurious bag by throwing it on the ground, introducing it as the bag Min-hwan once bought for her. Moreover, she ironically congratulates her friend with a statement that leaves Soo-min speechless, “Congratulations on picking up the trash that I threw away.”
Satisfying as it is, Ji-won’s confrontation is nothing compared to the appearance of Soo-min’s high school friends, led by Ha Ye-ji (Bae Geu-rin). During their school days, Ha Ye-ji and her 2 friends bullied Ji-won because they were deceived by Soo-min. However, upon discovering the true nature of Soo-min and the fact that she stole Ji-won’s boyfriend, Ye-ji’s group decides to wreck the wedding.
Not only do they dress unusually, the trio also expose Soo-min and Min-hwan in front of the guests. Ye-ji shocks Min-hwan’s mother by bluntly declaring that this is the wedding of a “cheater” who had an affair with her friend’s lover. Before leaving, Ye-ji even nods at Ji-won, as if to erase past animosities and grudges.
All in all, while Ji-won’s actions already delight the audience, Ye-ji and her friends’ “wedding wreck” excites viewers on a whole new level. The audience also recognizes that despite their delinquent past, this unique group of friends now knows how to think, treat others, discern right from wrong, and warn the right person. Thanks to them, Ji-won’s revenge becomes even more satisfying.
