Kim Ji Eun’s similarity with ITZY Ryujin got her casted for dating show “Nineteen to Twenty”?

Kim Jae Won, the producer of dating show “Nineteen to Twenty”, revealed the reason he casted the show’s panelists.

On the morning of the 6th, a production presentation for the Netflix entertainment show “Nineteen to Twenty” (also known as “19/20”) was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul. Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, actress Kim Ji-eun, AKMU’s Lee Su-hyun, singer Jeong Sewoon, PD Kim Jae Won, PD Kim Jung Hyun, PD Park Soo Ji, and others attended the event.

“Nineteen to Twenty” is a love reality show that captures the special moments of growth for the still inexperienced and youthful Generation Z, from the last week of being nineteen to the first week of being twenty.

Regarding his decision to cast the panelists, PD Kim Jae Won explained, “Kyuhyun has the ability to host and empathize through his experience with ‘Single’s Inferno,’ which is unmatched. That’s why I invited him again.”

He also mentioned Kim Ji Eun, saying, “She became the MC for ‘Inkigayo’, which our cast members would enjoy, so it seemed like everyone would like her. She became an excellent MC and gained attention for her strong resemblance with ITZY Ryujin, so I thought she would fit well with ‘Nineteen to Twenty.'”

Regarding AKMU Suhyun, the PD said, “We watched AKMU Suhyun grow as a musician, and since our show focuses on the theme of growth, there couldn’t be a better fit for us to recruit.”

Finally, Jeong Sewoon is described as “a friend who shares the most similar sensibilities and experiences with these friends”. “He seemed to have more experiences than we thought. He empathizes well, has a thoughtful personality, and shares many wise thoughts“, the PD added

In response, Kim Ji Eun said, “It was a great honor. I have been wanting to participate as an MC panelist for a reality show, and thankfully, they offered me the opportunity. Despite (Nineteen to Twenty) being a dating show, it was different from the existing framework”, adding, “And I was thrilled to be able to see the finished product faster than anyone else. It was something to brag about and I really enjoyed it”.

Meanwhile, “Nineteen to Twenty”, which shares one producer with “Single’s Inferno”, is attracting attention as a dating show that captures the fresh and lively appearance of young people.

In the show, cast members spend their last week as teenagers learning things they should know before becoming adults at “Nineteen School”, and then spend the first week of their twenties, learning about freedom and responsibility and creating memories together at “Twenty House”, breaking away from the “dating ban”.

The process of honest and pure cast members sharing friendship and love, as well as their emotions of empathy, support, and advice, is expected to evoke nostalgic memories of viewers’ own youth and provide relatable excitement.

At the same time, the diverse reactions from panelists Kyuhyun, Kim Ji Eun, AKMU Lee Suhyun, and Jeong Sewoon, are expected to amplify the charm of “Nineteen to Twenty”. The show will be available in over 190 countries through Netflix, starting from July 11th.
